The primary goal of Best Fruit Now is to help make YOU a smarter fruit shopper. There are so many fruits that are great at any given time! There is no reason to be disappointed by peaches that won't ripen, sour grapes, or melons that taste like cucumber.

There are very few rules in the world of fruit purchasing. This is mostly an industry whose quality is driven month by month. Growing conditions vary from season to season, region to region….seemingly more than ever with recent years’ weather trends.

The signature feature of this site is the Fruit Buying Guide, updated monthly, the guide offers current pics and pans in the world of fresh fruit.

  1. Great idea TK, question, can the NOW of best fruit vary from region to region and what is available locally? You are in the NE, I am in the mountains of Appalacia, different factors ranging from cost of fuel to local growers control of a distribution channel can affect what each of us sees in the store. Would love to know your thoughts.

  2. Thanks for the question, I always recommend FIRST to seek out your local farms offerings. The reasons for eating local are numerous, my main reasons are 1) to get really ripe and fresh fruit, 2) is to support your local farms ( so many local farms are vanishing and I feel it critical to protect them ) and 3) is in the spirit of being green (buying fruit with less of a carbon footprint). In our area in September blackberries may be great but in yours they may be finished. As for non local items like table grapes, and say, navel oranges that cannot be grown locally, there really should not be any difference in availablity. If you live in a town without a great produce store, then perhaps someone needs to open one. People love to buy great produce and it is more available on the wholesale level than ever before.

  4. Hiya, i have seen your site when searching a few weeks ago and i really love the design! I just bought a new 3 character domain (cost me a packet) for a niche review blog, and i was wondering if your design is a free or paid one? I'm new to Wordpress and about to set it up, and i would really like to get something with a similar look to yours. Any ideas where i could download or buy something similar? Thanks for your help! :)

  5. Tom,

I would like for you to consider doing some expert reviews on http://www.Top10Fresh.com after we launch it January 1st. I think it will be a great free opportunity to promote your website, and I think you will appreciate the content (and hopefully contribute to it).

And no need to check yet, it won't be up until January 1.

    See you then.
