Welcome to Best Fruit Now.
A site that celebrates the greatness of FRUIT!
We recently experienced our 200,000th view, so there must be plenty of fruit lovers out there! Please share YOUR thoughts on what YOU think are the best fruits NOW.
The primary goal of Best Fruit Now is to help make YOU a smarter fruit shopper. There are so many fruits that are great at any given time! There is no reason to be disappointed by peaches that won't ripen, sour grapes, or melons that taste like cucumber.
My name is Tommy K and I can SAVE you money. Now you too, like my friends and family can take advantage of my 25 years of experience inspecting fruit. Take the fruit home that I am taking home, and you and your family will be happy you did. You will enjoy more variety and will be spending your money wisely.
There are very few rules in the world of fruit purchasing. This is mostly an industry whose quality is driven month by month. Growing conditions vary from season to season, region to region….seemingly more than ever with recent years’ weather trends.
Let me help you cut through the hundreds of tantalizing choices and give you tips on which fruits offer the best odds of being great NOW.
This site is updated at the beginning of the month with three fruits that I highly recommend; these are "top of my list" for taking home. Also monthly, I will advise you on some fruits to avoid and some fruits to try (these will usually be a bit out of the ordinary). Be adventurous and enjoy the simple pleasure of great fruit, nature’s gift to all species on earth.
Please explore the site, be sure not to miss Natalie (in the Super Fruit Post). Try the Fruit IQ game, score 100% and you will win a Best Fruit Now T Shirt!!

Do not miss the "Fruit Buying Guide" where I make recommendations of what is best NOW and outline the odds of being satisfied buying many of the most common fruits at the market. Andy Rooney did a piece that clearly illustrates the need for this site, check it out here.
This website is FREE! If you are happy with this site please consider supporting the cause through a purchase at the Best Fruit Now Store. The Store features original design 100% Organic T Shirts, these shirts are the most comfortable tees I have ever owned, try one, you will not be disappointed. There is also a book for sale, witten by Michael Pollan, "In Defense of Food", is a kind of "How to Guide" for eating in today's highly processed world. Also available is a Chrome Fruit Rack, this rack is what I use in my house, kids really enjoy it! Enter "bestfreeship" as your COUPON CODE for FREE SHIPPING!!
Please post any suggestions for new posts, questions about fruit, or anything related to fruit!
Enjoy this site and Enjoy GREAT FRUIT!

Great idea TK, question, can the NOW of best fruit vary from region to region and what is available locally? You are in the NE, I am in the mountains of Appalacia, different factors ranging from cost of fuel to local growers control of a distribution channel can affect what each of us sees in the store. Would love to know your thoughts.
Thanks for the question, I always recommend FIRST to seek out your local farms offerings. The reasons for eating local are numerous, my main reasons are 1) to get really ripe and fresh fruit, 2) is to support your local farms ( so many local farms are vanishing and I feel it critical to protect them ) and 3) is in the spirit of being green (buying fruit with less of a carbon footprint). In our area in September blackberries may be great but in yours they may be finished. As for non local items like table grapes, and say, navel oranges that cannot be grown locally, there really should not be any difference in availablity. If you live in a town without a great produce store, then perhaps someone needs to open one. People love to buy great produce and it is more available on the wholesale level than ever before.

Hiya, i have seen your site when searching a few weeks ago and i really love the design! I just bought a new 3 character domain (cost me a packet) for a niche review blog, and i was wondering if your design is a free or paid one? I'm new to Wordpress and about to set it up, and i would really like to get something with a similar look to yours. Any ideas where i could download or buy something similar? Thanks for your help!
Tom,
I would like for you to consider doing some expert reviews on http://www.Top10Fresh.com after we launch it January 1st. I think it will be a great free opportunity to promote your website, and I think you will appreciate the content (and hopefully contribute to it).
And no need to check yet, it won't be up until January 1.
See you then.
